Dr. Lewis Claman, a graduate of NYU College of Dentistry, completed his periodontal residency at Ohio State and joined the practice in 1979 as a periodontist. He is an associate professor at the College of Dentistry and has won numerous awards as an outstanding dental school instructor. He achieved status as a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology in 1990, and is very active in his profession as a board member of the American Academy of Periodontology and member of the American Association of Dental Schools.

In 2006, Dr. Claman was honored as the Outstanding Periodontal Educator of the Year by the American Academy of Periodontology.
